Stamford Nature Center Engagement

Amanda and Steven met me at The Stamford Nature Center for a nice Sunday shoot. I think the animals are starting to recognize me, pretty scary. My kids, all four of them, really love to go for adventures here. You have to see Big Sis, the Pig, has to be at least 700 pounds! A new crop of baby lambs are running around and the chickens are always fun to see. I love shooting engagement photos because it gives me a chance to get to know the couple better and take some fun pictures. Note. June 1st is the 15th Annual Wine Tasting at The Stamford Nature Center.

Stamford Nature Center Wedding

The Beardsley Zoo was a cool place for a wedding, another cool place is The Stamford nature Center. Sara and Robert were married at The Stamford Nature Center underneath twinkling lights and surrounded by close friends. The interesting architecture inside, gave the wedding a real intimate feeling. Alison Grace of AMG Catering made some excellent food for the guests and with the last hour approaching, she passed around sliders which was a real hit. I really enjoyed the walk with Sara and Robert through the nature center where pigs, cows, Llamas and chickens watched our every move.

Shorehaven Sweet 16

High energy. That is what the sweet 16 party is. Sylvie had her party at the wonderful Shorehaven Country Club in Norwalk. Nanette and Fred spent the whole day decorating the club and it came out really cool. The photo booth was a smash hit and the music was provided by Keith from EJ THE DJ inc who really kept the energy flowing. I had to try the cake, even after having a sundae because it was from Great Cakes in Westport and it looked totally awesome!The theme was black and white, so I added a tint to the pictures to give it that classic look. Happy Birthday Sylvie!

Westport Bar Mitzvah

Harris had his Bar Mitzvah at Temple Israel this week and he did a fantastic job! We did the Beema photography a few days before the event, this gives us plenty of time to relax and take good pictures. I have been photographing at Temple Israel for many years. I saw Rabbi Orkand and I told him I was bummed he was leaving, he knew my dad very well. Change. After the photography in The Sanctuary, I photographed the party at the house. Outdoor cookers did an amazing job as they always do. The boys went paint balling upstate, they did not invite me, I think it is because I am a paint ball assassin.

Beardsley Zoo Wedding

When Carla told me she was having her ceremony and reception at The Beardsley Zoo, I freaked out! What a great place to have a wedding! Park setting, cool trees, wonderful paths and all with Peacocks walking around. Really fun. Then to top it off a carousel in the reception area where guests would climb on board for a fun ride. Carla and Bill enjoyed a perfect day with great food, and good friends. I love the picture of the whole party. My dad said this was a European thing to do for a photographer.

Westport Baby Portrait

Roman. What a cool name. Being a John, it is real neat to hear all the cool names out there… not that my name is boring. I just heard that John is now number 27 on the list of names. Thanks facebook for that! Roman is the cutest little baby and his two brothers were a lot of fun.

Brooklyn Bridge Engagement

The Brooklyn Bridge has always been a place I wanted to see and take pictures. The views are so pretty and they do not charge you to walk over it! But beware! The bikers will let you know if you roam into their lane. Barry and Vanessa live in the city and felt that the bridge would be the perfect spot to take their engagement photos. I agree with them.

Stepping Stones Birthday Party

I was invited to photograph Theodore’s 2nd birthday celebration at Stepping Stones Kid’s Museum and I was told there would be a celebrity there. I was really pumped when I heard it was Tommy Hilfiger. About 20 years ago I bought an American Flag button down shirt from Tommy Hilfiger and every Memorial Day and 4th of July, it is my shirt of choice. I told Tommy this story and he laughed. When I told him my wife keeps telling me to throw it out, he said.” I wouldn’t do that, it is now a collectible”! What a great party. The cake was made by Karen at Gingerbitz, and the kids had an excellent time.

Compo Beach Engagement

Fellow Staples Graduate Matt called me to photograph his wedding in August. The greatest complement Matt gave me was when he said he did not even have to see any samples of my work. That seeing me at so many events for the past 20 years gave him enough confidence to hire me was awesome. We shot the engagement pictures at Compo Beach with Virginia and Matt’s two Bulldogs. We really had a good time. More to come in August.
